Softens skin, smells delicious.
How did it get here?
It came in the post in January 2008. My sister sent it and I didn`t know what it was until I opened it. A box and inside a pot of Chanel Allure Sensuelle Body Cream.
I opened it, rubbed some on my arms that were the only part of me that was uncovered in January, said "Oh, lovely" and put it away.
What happened next?
Come Easter, after telling my sister it was too good to slather all over and surely I couldn`t put it on my legs to which she said of course you can I got it out again. By then shorts were worn occasionally at home and the legs in question were white, dry and rough so I rubbed some in and more into my arms.
What does it look like?
The Box is a maroon colour, looking very swish, the pot is also maroon with the Chanel logo on the top and some informative small writing on the bottom.
Where is it made, how big is it and what is it like?
France apparently and the pot holds 6.8oz or 200g. Inside the pot is some cream, it is white and doesn`t run out when you tip the pot. When you scoop some out it is soft rather than thick feeling and you don`t need much, a really rich cream that spreads a long way. I just touch the cream with part of my hand and that is enough to massage into one leg or maybe two but I don`t need to scoop any out. It feels soft, smooth but not greasy and sinks in beautifully leaving my body soft to the touch and smelling divine.
What does it smell like?
Well the Chanel website describes it as…A Soft Oriental Floral that is more suggestive than overt, heightening a natural sensuality and casting a spell of intrigue... and goes on to talk about warmth and voluptuousness and…Fresh, Timeless Floral, Woody, Oriental, Fruity and Sunny Spicy…
Now my description. Light, floral, woody, lovely, fresh rather than heavy but not at all citrus which is what I think of fresh. There doesn`t seem to be any musk in this but maybe a hint of lily, surely that`s the oriental floral bit.
How long does it last?
Oh ages, I put it on after a bath in the morning and can still smell a hint of it at bedtime. One evening at work I thought I detected an odd smell in the meds room so I asked someone if they could smell it and they said "I can only smell you" I thought oh goodness, do I smell, when they went on to say " Perfume or something, it`s nice, what is it." I had forgotten I had this Allure Sensuelle cream on.
One day my boss said "You smell nice, what is it?" and one day a lady stopped me in Sainsburys` and said "Excuse me but you smell really nice, what are you wearing?"
One evening I arrived home from work and my husband said "You smell lovely, who are you trying to impress?" I was begining to think I put too much on.
Then it ran out. We went on holiday in June, and in the beginning of July I was talking to my sister and told her how lovely it was and that I must get some more because it was running out and it was such a good cream, my legs, now nicely tanned and smooth and soft, my arms and the rest of me were the same.
Then one day in the middle of July I received a parcel through the post and hey here is another pot of Chanel Allure Body Cream. A big thank you to my big sister because getting another pot made me just so happy.
To sum up.
The fragrance lasts all day, the cream has given me soft smooth skin, and the pot lasts almost 7 months although I didn`t use it much at first.

But how much does it cost?
On the Boots website it is £45.00 and at Strawberry.net it is £49.50 so not cheap but well worth the price.
